DETROIT, Jan. 28 — Two weeks ago, members of the Detroit Federation of Teachers voted to relieve DFT President Keith Johnson of his duties pending a recall vote at its February 11 membership meeting.

Johnson is responsible for forcing the latest concession contract down the throats of Detroit Public Schools teachers. The new contract, among other things, requires teachers to bribe the district to keep their jobs.

Already, more than 20 percent of the members of the DFT have signed petitions supporting a recall, but Johnson and the DFT officials are dismissing and ignoring them.
