WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 — According to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unionization in the U.S. is at its lowest point since 1901.

Only 7.2 percent of non-government workers were part of a union at the end of 2009, down 10 percent from a year before. In the space of 50 years, unionization has dropped over 75 percent. Also, there are over three times as many unionized workers aged 55-64 than 18-24.

This is yet another sign of the collapse of the business unions, which have become little more than another layer of management, police and snitches in the workplace.
