WASHINGTON, Mar. 6 — Unsurprisingly, earlier this week the top business union officials in the AFL-CIO voted to once again spend millions of dollars to get Democrats elected. The Democrats’ loyal labor lieutenants plan to spend more than the $53 million they did in 2008 in six states they consider vulnerable to a “1994-like” surge by Republicans. All this, even though President Obama last week praised the mass firing of teachers in Central Falls, R.I. The union officials feigned anger, adopting a resolution calling White House support for unionbusting a “bad call” based on “wrong facts.” |
