WASHINGTON, Mar. 21 — Mass protests yesterday and today have managed to draw some of the focus of the media away from the ongoing debate over health care “reform.” Earlier today, nearly 200,000 gathered on the Mall in front of the Capitol to demand rights for all immigrants in the U.S., an end to anti-immigrant state repression and attacks on undocumented workers. Yesterday, upwards of 10,000 marched and rallied in D.C. on the seventh anniversary of the beginning of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq for an end to the occupations of both that country and Afghanistan. |
