TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, Feb. 10 — In the two weeks since Jose “Pepe” Lobo was inaugurated as the new president of Honduras, protests against his unconstitutional regime continue throughout the country. Lobo succeeds Roberto Micheletti, who overthrew the democratically-elected president, Manuel Zelaya, last June in a coup d’etat supported by the military and Washington. In spite of hundreds of thousands continuing to protest in Tegucigalpa and other Honduran cities against the post-coup Lobo regime, Washington has restored its military and economic aid to the country. |
